  • Where to sell a built, unused motor?

I had a motor built for my F150 a while back. It's got every bell and whistle that was available at the time (roughly 2 years ago).

Big top-mount 73mm twin turbo kit from Full Race Motorsports, complete fuel system (upgraded hpfp, conversion to return-style, etc.), ported heads with Ferrea coated high end valves, and on and on and on.

Unlike you ballers, my play fund ran dry and the project came to a screeching halt as the engine was completed.

I've got 99.8% of the parts needed to build an est. 800 HP Ecoboost F150 (or whatever else the Gen1 EB fits in). I've also got a bunch of random parts from a reverse light kit to Circle D torque converter. I stockpiled a massive parts inventory and then everything stalled, life got busy and I never built it.

Trick is I'm going to sell my truck and get a Superduty.

Where on earth do you begin to sell a setup like this? It's never been installed, never turned over other than during engine assembly.

I obviously don't expect to sell everything to one person or to even come close to recouping my money, but I'm not looking to give it away either.

Well that came out tiny. I'll try to repost later.

I would put it as a package on ebay. There are many people out there replacing engines with the high cost of new trucks. Maybe with a high enough reserve to weed out the tire kickers, and a long enough auction to increase visibility..

Ugh. I loathe eBay. The last few times I sold something there, the seller fees were outrageous.

I would say put it on Facebook marketplace but the bullshitters on there are insufferable.

Yeah same... In addition to FB marketplace, perhaps find an Ecoboost modification FB group to post up about in
            WRX

How about a price on here? I mean, that would probably fit nice in a M715, and I may actually finish one some day with some Axletechs and 46's! I had thought about this before since you have to cut the firewall for a 5.9. Plus, just curious what something like this would go for.

I'm guessing the 2015 F150 are different? My father in law's truck needs an engine.

This engine is a 2016 block with 2011 heads (all new parts from Ford). I can't tell you exactly what's different on the heads, but it's something minor to do with accessories.

I don't know what he's looking for, but this obviously isn't an OEM swap. The heads are fully ported, block has a custom cut deck plate, etc. If he's looking for a replacement motor for replacement motor money, he'll be sticker-shocked at this one.

I'll see if I can get a list of parts together, but it'll take some time because it's rather extensive.

Full disclosure, it's over $30k worth of parts and labor with the engine, heads, turbo kit, fuel system, etc. I know, I should've built my Fox body instead.
