found a cheap mini bike yesterday

50cc, 4spd trans, jockey shift, kick & electric start, front disc brake. $162 after taxes



it needs a little bit of work like the front foot control brackets re-welded but it starts and runs smooth. $5 says i wreck this thing and get hurt worse than on my real bike

I tore up a cousins mini bike after 1 hour of driving it. She didn't like the damn thing, and I was driving it in on grass when the morning dew still had the ground wet.

It was fun getting thrown off of the thing, but I fucked up the headlight and handle bars.

cheap imported minibikes are a headache. when shit starts breaking you'll see what i mean. I reccomend going over ever single nut and bolt with a wrench, and put loctite on everything that you want to stay. I can't tell if those are spoked wheels or not, but if so make sure the spokes are tight. That may buy you a little time, but 5$ says that things busted and sitting in the corner somewhere 6 months from now.

i have a pretty stout 125cc pitbike on a 50 frame.. that thing will hurt me faster than anything else i own!

i plan on somewhat 'rebuilding' it over the winter. gonna take it all apart and have a buddy of mine reweld a couple of brackets. clean up all the wiring and replace the air filter & spark plug, maybe even clean/rebuild the carb

also the ignition looks like someone took a screwdriver to it and then found the key for it, lol. where can you get new ones, harbor freight or northern tool?

If it's just a standard key cyl you can probably buy a replacement at oreillys. Weld any and everywhere that thing could possibly need it, it's most likely made of uber weak full of air bubbles metal.

yea i am gonna take the frame over to him and let him have at it. he was a welder for 12 years before switching to refrigeration
