Crazy the damage caused by these fires...

That's terrible. It looks like they dropped an Atomic bomb over that area. Feel sorry for all the people that lost their homes.

I can't imagine coming to my neighborhood and seeing it like that, heartbreaking.

yeah, that's devastating. I'm headed to Cali on Monday for work / support, and yesterday we prepped a bunch of radios for calfire operations. those guys out there are struggling

We're in a corridor of flames here in Sac, and there's definitely smoke in the air. I can typically see the Sierra's on the horizon, not so much the past few days.

Why does California always have these extreme wildfires?

Vegetation there dries out like crazy in the summer.

The long answer would involve recommending some really good books to read, but the short answer involves decades and decades of shortsighted forest management (including a shitty mandate to shop all fires by 10am the day after they were spotted), and population encroachment into those poorly managed areas. Combine that with semi-arid and Mediterranean-like climate in all of central CA...

Yeah, shit's gonna burn. It burns everywhere else too, but in CA it's always in closer proximity to people so you hear about it more.

                        It's Donald Trump's fault.
