  • HVAC question

For those of you in the know, can you tell me what this part is? It sits on top of the burners for the furnace. Can I buy this somewhere and is it something I can swap out myself?

If you dont know what it is then you don't know how it works... So how do you know it needs to be replaced?

That's the gas valve. It is available at plumbing and heating suppliers or online and can be replaced yourself. Just remember to check the connections for leaks with soapy water before you light it off.

Also, it looks like a gas valve.

I know how it works. It triggers the igniter so the burners will lite and run the heater.

Is it a generic replacement or do I need to look for a part # on this old one?

Yep, same old shit. Off work, had left rotator cuff repaired and disk in my neck replaced.

What about that tiny lump inside your head? Did you get that enlarged?

I’ve got a buddy who can get replacement parts and walk you through the steps to replace it. Henry Hill over at Strickland Propane, he’s super knowledgeable about this stuff.

I mostly just check threads for new ones. You still have both of your stangs? I sold the yellow one about 6 years ago and it found it's way back here again.
