  • What kind of snake is this?

Friend of mine text me earlier today a picture of this he found at his apartment.
It’s in the urban area. My first thought is copperhead but I don’t know I don’t see a significantly wide venomous head? Texas rat snake?

Without my gun hobby. I would cut off my own dick and let the rats eat it...

In the lower 48 that is known as a Copperhead....but in Texas it is the Texas Rat Snake Copperhead.

copperhead, all the rain has flushed the snakes and their prey out of their normal territory. plus the damp ground from the rain will force them to warm themselves up more

if it does not have an arrow head it is not copperhead. they are vipers and even new hatches have the distinct arrow head . there are dozens of lookalikes .
you can also look for the yellow tail .

Magnus, I am your father. You need to ask your mother about a man named Calvin Klein.

The color and pattern does match a Copperhead but as mentioned above his head does not appear to have the Wide jaws that most vipers have.

I’m betting it’s just the angle of the photo and maybe it’s head it just a tad slimmer than normal copperheads.. it’s certainly the right size and color scheme.. and in the right part of the world
