Well stupid question. If you could remove the flash suppressor couldn't you find an oil filter to put on the end of the barrel that matches the threading of the flash suppressor to create a silencer.

For all practical purposes, no. There is an adapter for threaded barrels that allows you to use an oil filter for a suppressor (a, "silencer"), but the adapter itself is an NFA-registered item, and oil filters make terrible sound suppressors.

I want to build a super nice one. Thinking a Noveske barrel to go into a side charging upper and a ambi bolt catch/release lower. The market is going to have to even out first though.

Ill take some pics of it tomorrow, only pics I have are on my phone. Ive been thinking the same thing, I want to build a real nice one also, but I think I want to go the SBR route. Im not really into the side charger deal, I was thinking a monolithic upper.
