they sell clip on mirrors that are removable, the headlight is already high/low/brake and if it doesnt have a horn you can install one for about $10

I rode a klr250 a girlfriends dad had, it was a gutless turd out on the street fwiw. xr400 with a street legal kit makes a nice bike.

I always liked the xr/xl line, a yamaha wr series is a good bike, but trying to maintain around a grand would make it difficult i would think.
