  • Older road bikes.

Going to sell my camber and shoot for a 15-20 year old aluminum road bike with newer components. I haven't used my camber in a year... No sense in having it and not get used. I am new to the road bikebike world... Tips would be appreciated.

Referring to tag, yes. Im not spending a grand+ on a bike that I may very well dislike the whole road thing. So, I'm looking at a few hundred dollar aluminum/steelies to get into.

Keep an eye on Craigslist. I bought my Allez for $300 3 years ago. You can pick up a newer bike at a really great deal, it just takes some looking.

Trek makes a lot of really nice inexpensive bikes. I have a 7.5 FX and dig it. It had 40 miles on it and I picked it up off craigs for 650.00 a year old (1100 new). 25 mm tires also which I like. I have hit a pretty good pot hole and the wheel and tire survived at about 22 mph. Don't cheap out to much, it will make you not want to ride.

Understood. I love my camber. But I never ride it. I think I'll get more use out of a nice road bike. Plus my dad is a road bike nut. As are some fellow officers at work. Got my bike posted at 800 on CL and few other places. We shall see what I can come up with.

IIRC it was an 08. In great shape. I put about 500 miles on it before upgrading to a Felt F1 (?) Courtesy of a great deal from Anthony S

I ride a 1994 steel Raleigh that I paid $90 for. Several metric centuries. Probably around 1,000 miles on it. I put a saddle on it and brakes. I ride my first 70M ride on the factory 20 year old saddle like a boss.
