  • New wheels for the fastback

Disclaimer: the car is dirty and straight off of jack stands, so the front suspension is far from settled. Couple that with the fact that I'm about to completely redo the front suspension with Shelby/Arning drop, and maybe a quarter of a coil trimmed off of the 620, 1 inch lowering springs and it should look right soon. The rear is just too high. I need new/better leaf springs for that. So I know it's too high presently, but I have plans in place.

    Anywho, I'm so excited!

The fit is spot on perfect.

    Front:
    17x7, 4" backspace with 245's

    Rear:
    17x8, 4.5" backspace with 255's

Ordered with tires mounted and balanced from CJ Pony parts.

Yeah I have to agree. The old wheels had their vintage charm, but this car is so far from vintage stock-ish, it needed some new jack attitude.

Here are the old wheels for comparison:

Were the old wheels 14's? Most old cars look good with sidewall but the old wheels and tires had to much. New ones look mo good

They look great and fit perfectly, which is near impossible on the early cars! Any rubbing yet? Because it will when you drop it

Yeah, they were 14's. Period correct, but these days kind of look like balloons.

Hah, no rubbing now that it's on stilts, but it should be fine once lowered. Plus, the fenders have already been rolled.
