  • Best BBQ joints in DFW

Brisket, sausage, ribs: I love Texas BBQ. Memphis style is a'ight, but y'all know we got this.
I'm thinking of doing a TEXAS style BBQ tour of DFW as part of my ghetto staycation this summer. Please help me out as I'm tryna create a list of favorites. One of my favorites is in Downtown Mesquite. Been there since forever. What else rocks?

I love some Hutchins in Mckinney. I get all you can eat. It's like $18.99 but you can also get fried catfish with that if you please. Also banana pudding, cobler, and ice cream is included. If you go you have to try a "Texas Twinkie"!

Hutchins is good. They used to cater all our stuff at work. It's nice to be able to get catfish too. That place is a zoo at lunch though. I wish I could find a place that did good burnt ends Kansas City style.

Yeah Lockhearts is pretty good. The Woodshed Smokehouse in FT Worth is kinda of different but pretty good. Juniors in Red Oak has some good Ribs. I eat low carb 97 percent of the time so I don't do to much sauce. It is hard to find many places that don't smother that shit and even harder to find decent ribs.

There's a big thread in the Food forum that covers much of this.

As mentioned in the Pecan Lodge thread. Would anybody be interested in doing a tour of some of the local BBQ joints in the area? Probably hit up a BBQ joint every couple of weeks or so (or maybe two if your gut can handle it) for an early lunch before it gets to crowded. Anyway, just thought I would throw that out there to see

Which Lockhart? Oak Cliff or Plano? Both are pretty good but I prefer the Oak Cliff location for obvious reasons And ya the only reason I would add sauce to my BBQ is if there is something wrong with it.

Yea it can get packed, but they are in the process of adding on right now. Hopefully that'll alleviate some of the wait times and seating problems.
