its a biopic of Irish-American mob boss and FBI informant Danny Greene, who tried to shoot his way to the top of Cleveland's criminal underworld during the late 1970s.

      Danny Greene

      DANNY GREENE FACTS:

      * His mother passed away three days after he was born and was known as "Baby Greene" until she was buried.

      * Attended St. Jerome Catholic School and developed a fondness for nuns and priests.

      * When Danny's father remarried, he did not like his stepmother and ran away from home at the age of six. He spent his childhood living with his maternal grandfather.

      * When Danny's father passed away, the obituary mentioned the three children from his second marriage but not Danny.

      * Attended St. Ignatius High School where he frequently got into fights with Italian-Americans regarding his Irish heritage and fueled a lifelong hatred for Italians.

      * Danny Greene was a member of the Boy Scouts of America until he was kicked out.

      * Danny was very athletic and was very disciplined in his diet. He ate only fish, vegetables and vitamin supplements.

      * Was heavily into his personal appearance and often wore green, had a green car and gave out green pens.

      * Danny Greene was a Marine and had excellent marksmanship. He had the rank of corporal and was honorably discharged.

      * Worked on the docks as a longshoreman.

      * Danny Greene was an FBI informant that was ranked "top-echelon". His codename was "Mr. Patrick".

      * Became employed by the Cleveland Solid Waste Trade Guild and was hired by Shondor Birns to be an enforcer for his various numbers operators.

      * Lost partial hearing in his right ear due to a bomb explosion that nearly took his life.

      * Danny Greene was married and had two daughters.

      * While living in Collinwood, Danny Greene paid the tuition to Catholic schools for various children, supported destitute families, had turkeys delivered to needy houses on Thanksgiving and often picked up tabs for friends and neighbors at restaurants.

      * Danny Greene was always a generous tipper.

      * Allied himself with John Nardi, Cleveland family labor racketeer who wanted to overthrow the Cleveland family leadership.

      * Danny Greene's and Shondor Birns' relationship soured over a loan for $75,000. Secured by the Gambino crime family, Birns gave the money to Danny that wound up in the hands of Billy Cox, who used it to buy narcotics.

      * Shondor Birns hired a hit man for $25, 000 to assassinate Danny Greene. All attempts failed.

      * As the mafia began to chase Danny Greene, he retaliated. In 1976, 36 bombs went off and earned Cleveland, OH the nickname of "Bomb City, U.S.A."

      * During an interview with Danny Greene, a reporter remarked that he was a "cat with nine lives" to which Danny replied, "I am an Irish Catholic. I believe the Guy upstairs pulls the strings, and you're not going to go until he says so. It just wasn't my time yet."

      * On May 17, 1977, John Nardi was killed by a bomb explosion leaving Danny Greene to fight the mafia alone.

      * On October 7, 1977, Danny Greene went to a dental appointment and upon leaving the car next to his exploded, killing him.

Val Kilmer is chunkin' it up. More like Slushman than Iceman.
