Do you not agree that there is a lot of shit that goes down, that the general population does not need to know anything about? What if that information then puts lives at risk? Not saying it has happened yet, but the potential is there. When you really consider all things, the precedent this sets is scary. We live in alarmist society. Its the way it is. Some information is best kept private. Obama will take things to his grave, just like the President before him, and a long line before that. It's the way it needs to be. Most people (see:ignorant) couldn't handle the brutal reality of situations.

        Agreed.

I'd rather deal with the risks associated with too much freedom than the risks associated with too little freedom.

because the stories that some of these papers are printing are all so radically different, it obvious that they are printing anything even if its not true because they know their readers will read it. have you read some of the articles being printed in europe? they are all a little far fetched. you have to give the american news agencies some credit though for not falling for some of these crazy stories

I really hate to point out the obvious but how do we know that some of the things that Wikileaks has "leaked" aren't lies?

We don't. And obviously this dipshit, an ex-hacker, has an anti-establishment agenda so why would he have any reservations about lying to get his way? He wouldn't.

Fact is, we live in a world with secrets and a lot of people simply can't handle the truth. They'd rather ignore it and go around with their heads up their fucking asses just like they have done for decades. Asking them to see and hear the truth about how our foreign policy operates is like asking them to move to Africa.

Get out of here with that common sense and logic. We have no place for that here.

Okay, so you are just picking and choosing stories which you claim to be the 'truth' and which are 'made up'.

                      Thanks for clearing that up.

And to add to that, while everyone is focused on this Assange fellow, what about the traitor who is supplying him with the information to leak in first place? Why haven't we heard more about that guy? Interesting to say the least.

That's what I'm saying. There are about 5 billion other dickheads out there that would have done the exact same thing. I guess shooting the messenger is much more fun.....
