After 11 years and lots of saving, I left my field for something I'm passionate about. I am currently in dispatch school and looking forward to graduating.

I have a question about the background search. Do they care about convictions or arrests or both.

Arrested for stealing a shirt when I was 17-18. Now 32. Dismissed

Arrested for possession of steroids when I was 21-22 maybe 23. Dismissed

Just curious. Nothing I can do about it but ive spent some time digging and can't find a straight forward answer.

FAR 121.533 states that both the airline captain and the dispatcher are held jointly responsible for the safety of the flight. In cooperation with the pilot, the flight dispatcher furnishes a flight plan that enables the aircraft to arrive at its destination on schedule with the maximum payload and the least operating cost. The flight dispatcher considers en route and destination weather, winds aloft, alternate destinations, fuel required, altitudes, and traffic flow.

This. It is about $400ea. Takes at least 3 months time to do but well worth it. Very easy.
