  • Inspection difficulty?

How hard would it be to get a 88 fox with a carbed BBF inspected in the metroplex?

It’s a classic, so not very hard. Lights, horn, etc.

That’s what I was thinking as far as being 25 yrs old. Couple guys at work were dead set that a vehicle had to have the same equipment that it had stock(emissions )

No one even looked at my 92 with EGR delete, smog delete, although I do have aftermarket cats the SMELL alone was obvious and it wasn't given a second thought.

They can still bust you for not having original emission stuff on. But, I'm sure most of the techs don't know what a smog pump is.

Do you have cats at least?

Not a car I currently have. Just thinking of buying. I’ve only own classic mustangs and 1 95gt with a cam and exhaust and all emissions pulled off. Was a bitch to always get it inspected. Currently have a 83 that started as just a shell and I finished the front end only. Kinda want something alittle more complete

You can also look at Antique plates and skip the inspection requirement. The possible downside is that antiques are supposed to be driven only for events and vehicle maintenance.

...or print some fake paper tags that are all the rage now.

Think of it this way... most of the people who will inspect the car aren't as old as the car. They don't know what was supposed to be on there or not.
