  • Mini-tubs

With the ability to only fit a 255 on my car, I broke out the grinder and got to cutting. I'm still in the rough in phase right now. I'll be ordering 315's soon.

Stock distance between tubs and frame

    Tub cut out

I gained 2-3"s, tubs flush with frame.

post pics of relocating those leafs when you get around to it. I can get a 305 in my torino no problem but if i wanna go much bigger i'll hit my leafs too.

Look up "Crites spring relocation". I'm using the idea, just not their cheap ass looking parts.

crites is known for their questionable parts and customer service so I can't blame you there. I never knew they made brackets like that

Oh and looks like I'll have plenty of clearance for 12" wide tires.

I'll say it now, even before the finished product, I commend your effort in cleaning it all up. (around the joints, seams etc). No one EVER does it the 'right way', it's just a BIG pain in the ass... and as you've most likely seen, VERY messy.

Thanks, the car is very "grungy" IMO. I'll have everything stripped and cleaned before it goes back together. I have a trash can FULL of crap that I chiseled off the car.

....so who's kit ARE you using, and how does relocating the leafs inward affect the suspension and its ride characteristics?

I'm making my own version MUCH beefier. Stay tuned and see how it turns out. I'm only moving the springs inward a few inches so it may or may not be noticeable. It's a street car, I dont really care too much.

Don't forget to post pics of the actual kit that you're fabbing up so I can copy it.
