Default OK guys I know what I want but not what it would be called.

I need a thin plastic. Preferably already tinted a dark shade, but will still let some light through.

What I'm wanting to do.is I mounted a shiftlight behind the dash and have a small section I want to cover up. There is a small tab that I'd like to put a peice of velcro to make it removable for track use etc.

Just can't think of what type of product this would be called. I know it's made, and I know it's cheap.

They sell it in the lumber section to home Depot. About a 2'x2' sheet of tinted plastic.

Maybe a gel insert used in stage productions to change the spot light colors?

Professional Plastics, Inc.

I think this is the place where I could get any dimension of plastic cut while doing stereo shit for my car. Maybe worth a call to see if they have tinted as well.

Mighty white.

Of all the people that know color, you'd expect him to have a wealth of knowledge in disguising something as a color it isn't inside.

Plexi glass? Lexan? Acetate?

I've got some sheets of acetate I could send you, though they are thin and would need tinted.

Piece of clear acrylic from Home Depot or somewhere, spray it with Blue Candy Model Paint. Multiple coats to make it as dark as you want.

Buy a cheap pair of large sunglasses with plastic lenses (like the gag gift extra size) and cut the lens to size.
