Early Thanksgiving

I was kind of bummed out that due to the time I will be spending traveling between inlaws and my folks house for Thanksgiving that I wouldn't be able to smoke a turkey this year. So I said what the hell. I got the day off might as well do something productive. No better way than to spend the day outside with the dog, drinking cold beer, and playing with fire.

What type of prep did you do for the bird, if any? I smoked one last year after brining it overnight and it turned out amazing, no leftovers. I do agree no better way to spend Thanksgiving then drinking beer and playing with fire.

I just inject it and add some cajun seasoning on the outside.

I did a bacon wrapped turkey last year in the oven, this year I have planned it a little better and will get one in time to thaw and brine it first.
