Either it's not actually in Ag, or your ag is expensive! I've got 22 acres in Rains county and taxes are only $68 for the year!

Congrats, land looks good. Whats required on a down payment for land?

I'm debating on buying another house or getting some land and leaning more towards land.

Yes, I have an Ag exemption and that's what keeps it so low.

Trust me it's in Ag. Collin county taxes are not cheap!

Specify whats needed to be exempt. I'm all up for saving Taxes if I buy land.

It varies by county, but by far the best thing to do is to buy land already Ag exempt! Most places require you set a track record of several years (up to 7!) before it can qualify. Mine was already exempt when I bought it, and I run cattle to keep it that way.

From what I've seen, yes. Ag Exempt is more attractive to buyers due to the tax benefits. I don't really know how much it affects the price though.
