Well, I got paper on it and drip edge complete just as the rain started to drizzle down. It is coming down just enough to prevent me from laying the adhesive started strip

Almost got one side shingled before the rain.

So close yet so far! I thought 3 bundles of shingles was going to get the job done. I have gone through about 1.5 bundles with what is in that picture.

Looking pretty good. Hopefully the rain lets up and you can finish.

Damn I hope so! Running errands this morning, hopefully I can get it finished this afternoon. Next up will be the door so we can start filling it with stuff.

I updated the materials list. That should cover everything but the door and the siding. Don't take it for gospel, but it should get you pretty close.

Thanks, I need to get a day light pic.

I checked it out last night while it was raining to make sure I didn't have any leaks. One of the vents ended up off center from the hole I cut by a couple of inches, I found that vent to have a slow leak. I'll have to climb up there and seal all of the shingles around it. I sealed what I thought might leak after I installed it, but it looks like I missed something. It isn't a huge leak, but it is dripping.

A note on the 2x4's, my estimation did not include utility 2x4's for any blocking that may be needed, or the lookouts for the the fascia. I haven't framed those yet, looking back, that was a bone headed move, as they should be nailed from the fascia 2x4 and now it is wrapped with hardi. I also have not framed the soffit boxes where the soffit meets the gable, again another bone headed move.

I got 95% of the soffit ran on Saturday Evening. I help organize a big pet cancer awareness event in Greenville every year and that took up my Friday evening and most of my Saturday. Sunday, I managed to catch a dry spell in the early afternoon and got the door roughed out. I am using T1-11 siding and a 2x4 frame. I'll hang it with 3 T hinges bolted in place. I am a bit concerned about the weight right now. Not sure how heavy this thing is going to end up being.

                        Remaining items:

                        finish and hang door
                        complete soffit
                        hang siding
                        paint
                        Set up shelves
                        Fill with crap

I effed up the door. I thought it would be a good idea to go pick up my t1-11 in our Edge. I had it ripped in half so that it would fit, damn thing ended up 1/4" out of square because of it. So, now, I have to figure out what in the eff to do to fix that.

Serves me right for trying to rush it in the rain on Sunday.

Nope. Once I build the door out of square, I got pissed and quit for a while! The last week has been spent in the kitchen, gutting it for the new cabinets, floors, and granite. That should all be done next week. Hopefully I can get some work done after that. If you want to keep up with my DIY renovations, take a look at my remodel thread!
