  • How to Fix a New Gas Can

  • #2
I hate the new safety cans. Would love to find an old gas can somewhere. Good video.

I like the old 5 gallon galvanized cans that tractor supply used to sell. I find them sometimes at flea markets. I buy all I can.

Whoever invented the new gas cans should be publically flogged.

That and the guy who invented parking lot speed bumps.

i wouldn't use a tire valve but a small hole is good for a vent. i've had cans split open at the seem because the gas would build pressure on the can with no vent

I bought a bunch of them from Smileys after Ike flooded Houston several years ago. Walmart, Target, Tractor Supply, Harbor Freight and all of the parts places were sold out. Plenty of VP race fuel jugs at the dirt track store though for some reason.

I hope you're not talking about making a small hole and leaving it open to vent fuel vapors.... that's not a good idea.

Everyone knows those vapors are harmless and never the cause of fire or an explosion.
