  • Identify GSXR 600 or 750 motor by looking at it?

Going to look at a 09 750 tomorrow, I am going to pick it apart and want to know if you can cosmetically tell a difference between the 600 and 750 motor.

I don't trust anything when it comes to used sportbikes.

    Thanks for any help,

    Jarod

    09 750? why would it have a 600 motor?

I think if it has a R at the beginning of the motor serial, it's a 700-750cc

I doubt it would, but its a used bike on Craigslist, I don't trust Craigslist, or used sport bikes so I want to double check my double checks.

I searched and couldn't find the answer but using your info I actually found a page with a code chart, thank you!

        And yes you are correct,

        This is what I found...

Suzuki uses generally a three-digit engine code starting with a letter and ending with two numbers that reveal the cylinder displacement and type of the engine.

Piston displacement Engine type Design sequence

        B 50—69cc

        E 90—99cc
        F 100—124cc
        G 125—149cc

since it is a CL bike, you really should call a local PD and have the motor and neck numbers ran anyway.

It will say 600 or 750 on the tail, was it painted?

should say on the frame tag whether or not it's a 600 or 750. also, just look at the color schemes for the 600 and 750's for '09. each model had different colors.
