  • Custom/Semi Custom 1911's

I'm looking at various 1911's out there as I want to add another to the arsenal... I've narrowed it down to two:

    STI Lawman:

    or

    Wilson Combat CQB:

Thoughts on either of these or any experiences? I'm leaning towards the STI because, well, it's cheaper, and they are a Texas based business, only I've never fired one. Anyone have any experiences with either? Pros/Cons?

The Wilson will most likely be worth the money. I haven't shot one yet, but every one I've ever finger blasted felt like it was a little chunk of excalibur. The STI's all run like tops, so they're who I'd go with for the price. There isn't a better value for the dollar in the 1911 world than STI.
ZOMBIE REAGAN FOR PRESIDENT 2016!!! heh

I didn't care for the sti 1911 that I shot, but it was one of the cheaper models.

Anyone ever tried to piece together a 1911 like from parts from Midway? I have thought about it. They sell every single part to do it.

Yeah, I know the lower models (Spartans) are made overseas...

That's what it was, sights were junk and just overall didn't feel that great. That's my only experience with either brand. They both look awesome though, but I like the way the Wilson looks better.

The Wilson will hold it's value better but that's about it.

Yes, but the good parts add up fast.

And the resale won't be there when compared to a wilson.

I have two Wilson's. They are tight and accurate, but a bit spendy. 2500 to 4000k will get you a very nice weapon that will last a lifetime. With that said, I don't have a bad word to say about STI.

I don't know anything about these in this thread, but I'm itching for one of those colt M45s.

Regardless of which one you choose it will be hard to follow up the Kimber, IMHO.
