After stripping it of its grill, tailgate, and all aluminum trim, I posted it for sale on Craigslist. Less than 8 hours after listing it, a guy agreed to buy it at the same price I had bought it for originally. So basically, I got my much needed trim, tailgate and grill for free. He was also a Ford enthusiast, and when we dropped the truck off at his shop, he had 5 or 6 restored f100's, a couple of real nice fairlanes, and a ton of "parts trucks" and projects sitting out behind his shop. So, it went to somebody that will probably actually do something with the truck. And he was also a good contact/relationship to have during this build. He also had a few interior parts that I got from him.
Excellent. That worked out really well. I can't wait to see your truck when it's done. I drove a 71 model in high school. It was pretty fun to rev it up and dump the clutch.

        • Doors and fenders done. I hope to have the bed painted by this weekend, and am getting the cab knocked out sometime next week. I still need to color sand an buff all the pieces, but the colors came out beautiful. 3 coats color, and 3 coats clear. I wish the camera could capture the true color.....because it looks much better in person. (Yes...very cliche, but its true.) The color of white I mixed up, was an antique white. It came out almost like a cream. I am very happy with the results, since I didnt use any color codes. Just kept adding/mixing to get the desired colors. Anyways, heres the pics.

And yes....I have brought these pieces inside the house for now, and they are sitting in my game room. So, the white trash comments are warranted. It's cool. I brought it upon myself.

Wow. Took me damn near 7 months to go back and really read the post from the get go. Good call sir, good call! Whether it was intentional or not, it looks as if that's exactly how it came out.

If i was going to build an all out custom like that, I would love to have a painted frame and other individual twists and turns. If I can come across a 53-55 or a 64-66 F100 for cheap, I wouldnt mind hacking it up, and laying frame. But with this 67' I really wanted more of a sport truck.

                              • Well, we finished painting the cab, hood and bed. The paint layed out nicely, but i will say that for the first time in this project, I am dissapointed with the quality of something. The bed sides required alot of body work, sanding and blocking, and sanding and blocking. there are still some areas that are a little bit wavey. It may not bother some, and others may not see it at all, but it is frustrating, knowing how much time I invested in trying to get it perfect. Its sickening actually. Oh well...it still looks killer to the average eye, but its definately not perfect.

(And the green looks darker in these pics, but it is the same. I took these latest pics with my phone, and it came out looking darker than it actually is)
