Pinion angle ?

Ok my 90 gt has adjustable uppers and lower. Wheelbase is set. From what i read online i need -2* of pinion angle. My driveshaft is at 2* and my pinion flange .5 degrees. How do you know wich is positive or negative? Is it negative if the needle is left of the zero or positive right of thw zero on the guage. Thanks

i had a smart ass response but thats actually a good question.

in my head i would think you would need to read the guage from the same direction; as in read it from the left side of the car at the rear, and the right side of the car at the trans. if that makes any sense?

im thinking like a pipe fitter here so dont mind me.

Rossler has a easy way of explaining this. You want the center line of the crank/trans output to be parallel under load.

So if the trans is pointing 2 degrees down you set the rear at zero if you have a deflection of 2 degrees.

Pinion angle confuses the shit out of people, myself included but once you get it you go ohhhhhhh lol

Yeah u gotta take the crankshaft angle into account too, I think it's around 3deg down with stock motor/trans mounts

Tranny has -2.5 drivesaft 2 + and pinion flange -2 after i center the rear end.

Has poly bushings upr control arms upper and lowers with new ford racing 8.8 housing bushings.

Ok got new readings after adjusting rear end.
Looking from passenger side.
T56 tail shaft -2.5*
Driveshaft 2*+
Pinion flange -2*

Did the math and have -4 degrees. Is this a good setting with mix rubber and poly bushings?
