  • 2007 GMC Sierra gave up the ghost

Looks like my truck gave up the ghost this morning...

I'm trying to embed a video from my FB but can't seem to figure it out.

Cool story, I know Stay tuned cause when I figure that out, I need to know your thoughts on whether or not it's top end or bottom end.

Assuming it has good oil pressure, the oil looks okay and it's not misfiring that could be a carbon knock. I'd try some seafoam and see what happens.

I'd also run it without the belts to make absolutely sure it's not an a/c compressor, tensioner or something else stupid.

Seafoam in the oil or gas...or vacuum?

I can remove the belt really quick to rule that out, good suggestion.

Well technically it kinda is already an LS...but yeah maybe time for a BIG LS.

Anyone have any links for this kind of swap? Do I need the harness, ECM, mounts, tune? I'm off for two week at spring break so I have to do something....either reman 5.3 or used 6.0.

What sucks is it's been a long ass time since I've pulled an engine.

If you've already got a 5.3, grab a 6.0 of the same generation or year. Should be super simple. Most of your stuff can be reused I believe.

I was just looking some of that up. Looks like your first link is pre-2007 (Classic). 6.0 engines for my year jumps up in cost by a lot...still looking though
