You could probably cut a few corners and get that price dropped down, but that will definitely do it.

That's way more psu that you need and where's your standard hdd for storage? 500gb will go by in the blink of an eye.

        For example, I'm running a 3770k Oc'd to 4.2ghz, a gtx460 3x2tb 1x1tb, OS ssd, BR Drive, Corsair H80i + 2x120mm fans off an Antec EW 650 w/out a single issue. It's rock solid at 100% load.

Ok. I will downgrade it. All he plays is games so he wants ssd only. His current i7 rig just has a Samsung Pro 256gb.

Is the GTX 970 ok with 1440p because I was thinking a 27" 1440p would be nice. Or 144hz with G sync?

It'll depend on the game and the level of detail, but with games like Battlefront you'll probably only see 40-50fps with everything set to ultra at 1440p.

If you keep things down to 1080p, it'll be fine. I stayed near 60fps with Dragonage inquisition on ultra and 1080p, and around 90fps with battlefield 4 at ultra/1080p.
