  • Date Night for Five Couples

We're trying to plan a date night for 5 married couples (yes, this board got old).

I'm trying to think of something different than going bowling, Top Golf, etc. I looked at the Murder Mystery dinners and will mention that to the group, but I'm figuring it'll be too pricey for most (starting around $60 each person).

Any of you married folks got idea for a date night for a group of 10?

We did the murder mystery in grapevine and it was pretty cheesy. Went for a bday party and wouldn't do it again.

    Maybe try:

-a brewery or winery tour on one of those buses.
-the addison improv then bar hopping
    -the stockyards

Axe throwing was fun, I did that with 2 other couples a few months ago in Grapevine.

A whiskey distillery tour would work perfect. Most that been two around here have food offerings in their tasting rooms. Sometimes they will have events on weekends with live entertainment.

The escape rooms are fun, but it may water a seed of hatred you already had subconsciously planted for one of them.

You might try one of these:

-https://www.pocketsandwich.com/ we've been here several times over the years. Sometimes cheesy, always enjoyable. The food isn't great but that isn't why we go. Popcorn throwing is great entertainment. Arrive early for best seating. It nearly always sells out so get tickets in advance.

-https://www.milb.com/frisco/tickets The Rangers Rough Riders AA baseball affiliate in Frisco is a fun place to go with a group. Usually fireworks after the game on a weekend. It's affordable, and who doesn't like fireworks. We saw Choo jack a homer here a couple of years ago while on rehab assignment. It's a great place to watch a baseball game and has enough to offer to keep non-baseball fans from being bored. Easy in and out. Get the parking passes in advance when you buy tickets to save $5 on parking.

-dinner at Joe T. Garcia's and tickets to the Stockyards Rodeo. Still affordable and far enough away from Rockwall that you'll feel like you went somewhere. Start early and have enough time to wander the stockyards before the rodeo. For a cheaper option look into having dinner at one of the restaurants on the lake in Rockwall and drive over to the Mesquite Rodeo.

-July 3rd, Kaboomtown in Addison. Rent a room at a hotel close to the fireworks. Set up some chairs and your ice chest(s) with food / drinks outside within view of the fireworks. Set up a grill if you want. Start early, miss all of the traffic and spend some quality time with your group. This can be a fun time that doesn't have to cost much, and who doesn't like fireworks?
