I know plasti dip is supposed to be thick, so that makes since. I would only be looking at a roll of 3m tape, so that wouldn't be that big of a deal. Do you have any finished pics?

No, I abandoned the plastidip when I realized I was going to have to re-tape for every coat. I just used trim black paint. Looks 80% better, but then again, I didn't spend a whole lot of time on it.

Many coats, remove tape after it's dry. Super easy. It helps if you use a razor blade prior to removing the tape.
