  • My Wagoneer lost a few hundred pounds today...and will double its H.P.

You guys may remember this pic...

This pic is after the last drive with the old AMC. Ran great...just expensive to build well, terribly inefficient, and not many people are familiar with them.

Got a good deal on this combo that I couldnt pass up. I had planned to swap eventually, but wasn't in a rush. This came along so I jumped on it.

Just a little fitment check, making sure the factory manifolds will clear the booster and heater box, firewall, etc.

Engine mounts being fabricated, then I need to pickup the transfer case and mount the transmission crossmember.

After that the fun begins: wiring, fuel lines and new baffled tank, cooling, etc. It's gonna be a while! Should be fun though.

Badass truck. Put the stock grill back on while you're at it

that's a cool looking truck. Pardon my ignorance, but what is the motor combo going into it?

I saw an old Wagoneer the other day and started contemplating one with a 4Bt swap.

Very cool! A friend just finished a LQ9 swap in his LJ and now I'm really wanting to do something to mine.

A lot of the old Wagoneers used a Turbo 400 in a modified case. It had a large back plate for the transfer case to bolt to. No tail stock.

Got my transfer case today! Came out of a 94 K2500 suburban, so it already has the correct spline count on the input. The guy also threw the floor shifter and both driveshafts in.

I am still waiting on the factory adapter from the 6l80e, it should be here tomorrow. Once I have that I can test fit it and see if it will need to be clocked or not.

I went ahead and rinsed the engine and transmission also.

Engine mounts should be here Wednesday.

Tomorrow I may pull the rolling chassis out and decrease the engine bay. Whats the best method to remove 25yrs of grime? I've got a pressure washer...

I'm anxious! I have little patience for shipping.

                              Update tomorrow.
