Give it a redesign, like they do to cars all the time. Still largely the same idea but with many improvements to bring it into the modern era.

The A10 has already received several upgrades. While it's an awesome plane...there comes a time when a platform is edging towards obsolescence.

At some point a new platform becomes necessary...especially as the landscape of warfare changes. You cant just keep maintaining a plane because "BRRRRRAAAPPPPP"!!!!!

What?! That's the dumbest way to maintain air superiority.

Why are we even physically flying planes anymore? Why isn't it all done by someone in a cockpit in a nice ac warehouse somewhere here in the states?

Just wait until we start using kinetic weapons. We'll basically be dropping tungsten poles from satellites and that'll be able to vaporize anything on the planet within 10-15 minutes time.

That's not really how airframes work. They have received updated tech throughout the years, though.

Can you elaborate, or send some links?
I'd be interested in reading up on this.
