  • The taller gears tend to want to blow off the tires less, or for less time anyway.

    • I was actually thinking 3.27's might be about ideal.

The problem with the one I'm working on is that it easily breaks them loose at a higher tire speed (and of course MPH), which can be a real handful.

For example...if you are just rolling along in 4th gear at 45-50 MPH and decide to stretch it out a little, the damned thing will break the tires loose from just a mild roll-on (or what feels like it should be a mild roll-on)....but combine that squirrelliness with the short wheel base and MPH you are already moving, and it can make for an instant pucker. Takes some getting used to.

I can say if I ever have one of my own, it'll be a small block for sure....I don't care for the manners (or lack thereof) that goes a long with one of these and a big block.

I cant use the cruise control on my dodge if there is any hint of moisture on the road. I learned the hard way, it downshifted, full boost and I was drifting at 75 down I20, in a lifted truck.

No no....I'll admit I'm getting pussified in my old age!

To be honest though, it isn't just the un-predictableness of the power....the thing would handle SO much better if it were lighter up front. Those damned 385 series engines are friggin heavy....this one has aluminum heads and it's still a boat anchor.

It still takes off like a banshee. 3.55s or leave it.

What color is going to be? I'm kinda loving the red.

                              • I'm going quite a bit different. This one is pretty much what I'm going for. The gum balls and decals on mine will be static cling, so I can remove them whenever I please.
