A few new parts have arrived... correct GT seat/3-piece cranks/new pedals/new stem/Robinson Pro bars and it's mid-disassembly right now and will sit in an Oxolic Acid bath for a day or two to remove all the tiny rust spots from the frame/fork/bars before I polish it up and re-assemble it. A few more pics to come soon.

I had this exact bike, but rarely rode it because I was a skater:

Haha.. I went through that a few years ago. I was going to the skatepark 2-3 times a week and even built a ramp at home. But yeah, kept getting hurt.

I have like 5 boards in the garage, including a couple of my originals from the 80's.

                Certainly.

My first custom build was an Elf Lite. I started dirt jumping and twisted the rear end up. Got a Hoffman Condor after that, started street riding, got a Kink Revision B. Still have it.

Oh yeah, I remember all that...

Got it all torn down and in an OA bath for the night to remove the rust spots from the chrome. I'll clean it all up and re-grease it when I start putting new parts on it.

I'm with jimbo. I can't do the 20 nor the 24,s at almost 41yrs old. I've got a cheap ass gravity ridged 29er from bikes direct that I slapped some bmx bars and a set of small block 8's on and it may be my favorite yet.

                    God bless.

I was a pretty hardcore skater, so none of that stuff rings a bell. Coolest bike I ever owned was a Huffy Sigma. Yeeeaaaaah.

I picked up a built 80's vintage Diamondback Viper from a member of the old board at least 6 years ago and rode the shit out of it until I lent it to a friend who promptly got it stolen off of his porch in Carrollton last year. I miss it everyday and just need to start hawking craigslist for a replacement but I do not know what to buy. Any pointers would be greatly appreciated.

So I gave it the OA bath and removed all the surface rust spots and started to put it back together... The Profile Racing cranks I bought for it didn't come with the install tool for the crank arms so I'm waiting on that to get here but this is what it looked like last night.

                                Elfs were a great platform

I always wanted one of those "hawk" square frame bikes because they were light as fuck
