  • What kind of flush mount truck tool box?

Yeah yeah I know, Mustang site. I cant seem to locate a good flush mount tool box for my truck. Its a newer GMC crew cab with the shorter bed. All the boxes I see online are too deep due to the wheel wells and none seem to be the right height so I am unsure how to mount one. I hate the boxes that sit on the bed but I have to have a box in the truck.
Anyone here have a GM crew cab short bed with a flush box in it? Looking for options.

    $549
It sits below the bed rails, but does sit on the bed floor.

Let me know if you want me to get one coming.

I really like that Weathergaurd. We have RKI local and its $400 installed for polished and $500 for black. I wanted it to sit pretty much flush with the bed rail though. I am only 5'11" and its not easy to reach inside a box that low in the truck.

On the last in the bed toolbox I had I just shimmed it up with a couple 2x4s to get it level with the bed.

I decided I will just get a narrow low profile one that sits on the bed rails. I only need it for jumper cables, small tool kit, roadside kit and tow straps for customers stuck in the field.
I like the Weathergaurd but on some things I am a cheap ass and its hard to justify $700 for a box I can get for under $300 in Husky or DeeZee.

                          I kinda like this one:

use J-hook bolts and foam so that you don't have any evidence of the toolbox having been installed

I also just ordered bed rail caps to help keep the lip from getting scratched up.
