    Over the past week I've been compiling this information and I think it's of value to a lot of people so here it is.     Those who are familiar with the 94-04 Mustang may already know that although we have several front and rear swaybar options, but the information that most retailers supply isn’t nearly good enough to make an informed decision when selecting a new swaybar for your vehicle. It is generally thought that a bigger swaybar is stiffer and although that thinking usually does hold true, when you are comparing swaybars with different wall thicknesses this isn’t always the case.
    To compare swaybars of the same design you only need to know the relative stiffness which can be calculated using the following equation: R = relative stiffness, OD = outside diameter in inches, and ID = inside diameter in inches.

    R = OD to the fourth power - ID to the fourth power

    Below I have listed all of the aftermarket swaybars I could find that use the factory the mounting points and design. I have calculated the relative stiffness’s of all the following swaybars and listed them in order from stiffest to softest. You will notice that swaybars with the same relative stiffness have been grouped together to simplify things.

    Using this listing you can compare your aftermarket swaybar to another one, so if you have the Eibach bar from group 2 and would like less understeer you can go down to a softer front swaybar from groups 4 or 5, and if you would like less oversteer you could go to a stiffer front swaybar from group 1. By comparing the relative stiffness’s you can see that a group 1 swaybar is 19.6% stiffer then a group 2 swaybar, (1- (3.5745 / 2.9883)) = 19.6%, and a group 3 swaybar is only 0.7% softer, ((1- (2.9675 / 2.9883)) = 0.7%.
