Laptop won't connect to interweb after Win 7 update

I can't remember which setting it is, something 1.2 just came out and interfered with secure sites when using ie, and the same setting affects ff users. In internet options, and the advanced tab, scroll down to the bottom of the settings window and there are some options that say xx 1.0, 1.2 etc. It's the 1.2 that needs to be unchecked. I'll check in a bit for specifics. Not at my computer right now.

edit: Make sure TLS 1.2 is unchecked.
