Find Current Owner of Car with VIN Only

Is it possible to find the current owner of a car with just the VIN? I would like to try and buy the car back if it still in decent shape.

Thanks! I checked publicdata.com and it shows the person we sold it to as the last owner, but that is just for Texas.

That car has not had any titling or Carfax history since September 2012. Last reported item on Carfax was a registration in 2012. My guess is the car is sitting in someone’s yard and Buna Texas were the last owner lives.
