I think that is a little inaccurate. The F-100 wasn't the first 'aircraft' to exceed Mach 1 in level flight. It was the first 'jet' to do so. The Bell X-1 is the first aircraft to break Mach 1 in level, and controlled, flight.

Embraer rolled out their new E190-E2 regional jet yesterday. My company designed and built the fuselage. I have about 2 years of engineering and design invested in this so if you were to find yourself on one and you are in the shitter or galley, you're standing on my work. lol
