  • The AK got a new paint job.

Every AK deserves a gritty paintjob.

The entire gun was disassembled and painted woodland tan. Then camouflaged dark earth and olive drab after reassembly. Turned out great I think. The only thing I dont like about it is some paint spattering. I think my air pressure was too low. This was with duracoat.

Great... now if you drop your rifle, you'll lose it. LOL

I actually had my scope paint-matched to my VTR.

My boss wanted the flat sides of his Glock 34 duracoated dark earth so I masked off and did that for him. I didn't think to take pics of it. Overall I really dig the duracoat product so far. I've got some flashlights and stuff i'm going to do next.

And this is how you degrease an AK in preparation for paint.

The dishwasher works like a charm. But you will get very light random rust spots. Since I had to scotch brite the whole thing anyways, it didn't matter. Which reminds me I need to oil her up.

turn the heated dry off and it may not rust as fast

Yeah, for some reason I though heated dry was the way to go.

I'll actually hold it for the first time next month when I get home.
