  • Colt M4 Carbine. What's it worth?

Step son is selling his M4. I "want" it but would need significant shenanigans in order to keep peace with the CFO. He's not sure on value though. I looked on Gun trader etc.. and found them anywhere from $650 to $1000 +/- so obviously I'm missing something.

He purchased his in `03 and has put <100 rnds through it.

    TIA

So what is the question? Values can vary depending on the brand/model. Rails, chrome lined barrels, furniture, etc. can make the value go up or down.

It's just a bone stock Colt M4 purchased at CTD back in `03. No add-ons. Iron sights. I'll get more info next week when he's back in town but that's really all I have. Didn't know if they came with barrel options etc...

It's going to be on the lower end of the spectrum.

That's what I was figuring. Just having a Colt with low mileage and bone stock is appealing to me.

          Thanks,

Sorry I missed that it was a Colt. Agreed that it would be on the lower end of the spectrum but I would think it being a Colt and possibly mil-spec might push the value up a little over say a Bushmaster or the like.

People are parting them out for more than they're getting for them whole. But it also depends on mag well markings. I paid $375 for a complete m4 marked Colt lower a couple weeks ago.

Would $700 for a complete rifle with all Colt furniture be fair then?

I'd probably be willing to pay that. It's pretty cheap.

I was thinking $650/$700 but wasn't sure, which is why I consulted the Mighty OZ (dfwmustangs).
