  • Moving and shaking

You know it’s a pretty big earthquake when it shakes my house hard enough to wake me up after working night shift, and I live 350 miles north of the epicenter! Looks like Anchorage is pretty much closed off for right now with all the road damage!

Some of the news clips I've seen were pretty brutal. I would imagine they have a lot of infrastructure damage.

One of my step-brothers and niece live in Soldotna, not far south of Anchorage, on the Kenai Peninsula. Fortunately for them not too much damage. Mainly superficial and broken dishes. Apparently the main route out of town is out, but that's not a problem since so much of their goods are moved on the water.
