It seems at this point that they just have to let the water do whatever it will to the main spillway in order to prevent a breach of the emergency spillway that could end in catastrophic failure.

they will be using helicopters to fill it with rock much the same way they use them in emergency fire situations.

the problem with that is there are not a gang load of helicopters sitting in cali waiting. they are all over the country.

we ran into this situation last year trying to lift three chillers onto a roof via helo in downtown, but 2 days before our helo's cancelled because the had to go fight fires in cali.
