Police swarmed the area near North Market and East 10th streets shortly about 2 p.m. in response to a report of a masked man carrying a*rifletoward the school.*

The caller told police he dialed 911 out of fear that the armed man was up to no good and may intend to commit a crime on school grounds, the Sheriff's Office said.
