I don't know who that is. More and more people are becoming self-proclaimed elitist movie critics. It's either "It had no substance." or "It was predictable." Fucking annoying. Really? The good guys won? Who would've guessed?

I don't think it was directed at me, and I feel no need to defend myself. I just love movies and I notice when I go to one I want to enjoy and walk out thinking I just watched someone jerk off to the tune of $83 million dollars with no regard to engaging me, the audience.

That movie is a glory of light and sound, and I still didn't give a shit about any of the characters that were in it, and that's not good enough.

I'll grant you that. I've just been hoping Zack Snyder would find his voice on some of these films. Granted, I haven't seen Sucker Punch (I plan to), but so far his films have lacked anything that seems to set him apart. He lets effects and cinematography do all the heavy lifting, and doesn't use the opportunities they offer him to tell us anything. The Watchmen and 300 were excellent movies if all you were looking for was what was already in their respective books. I could see leaving 300 well enough alone, but not taking any liscense with the Watchmen just makes it boring. The point of my nit-picking is, I pay a lot to see a movie, and I'm a thoughtful cat, so I like real diversion in my films. I like being forced to think about what's going on. If something looks interesting and turns out to be vacuous, I'm disappointed. I don't think he's as bad as McG yet, but I'm leery about him directing the next Superman movie. I'll try to post a relevant opinion about this film when I see it.

If you like Anime, then yes. It's that with real people and over the top CGI goodness.

Saw it tonight. Here's my opinion. The story and the epic battles need to be assessed completely seperately while watching. Think of it this way.

Movie introduction. (Fucking awesomely sad/emotional BTW and a sweet ass cover song)
The main story begins...more story.
Now there's an awesome epic battle scene with a superhot chick in asian schoolgirl attire.
Main story continues.
More awesome hot chicks kicking ass.

...and it does this a few times, then it starts focusing on the main story more towards the end.
Then it goes to the outro.

There are three different levels to the movie. I'll admit, it was hard for me to tie the 1st and 2nd level together, but it's not really needed.

As long as you can think of the battle scenes as just eye candy which they are, the story is actually pretty good and very motivating. As soon as we walked out my roommate said "That movie just convinced me to start looking for another job." He's been talking about it for a while but hasn't taken the necessary steps to do so.

I wanted to like it, but in the end it was just okay. I see where they were going with it, but I was quite bored throughout a lot of the movie.

The movie is meant to be motivational. Chances are that the people that didn't get it are either set in their ways whether that be a good or bad thing, or have given up hope. It's a very sad movie, but also the most positive movie that I've seen in a while.

Maybe we just had different expectations going into the movie. Watching the special on G4 gave me an idea of what the movie was about. If I had gone in expecting to see a very linear movie, then I might have been disappointed.

I wanted to walk out a couple of times. I had high hopes for this movie..it just didn't come together though. Only reason I finished to movie was because we were at the movie tavern and I wanted to keep drinking beers. The story was to erratic for me to enjoy it. The hot cosplay chicks and the gunporn were the only things good about the film.
