I just swapped out my old first gen 385/700r4 combo out of my 240Z, just dropped in a LS2 short block with LS3 heads and intake. Going to pick up the 4L80E this evening. My old set would run 9.70's on a 175 shot.

You are going to love it!!!

Flywheel resurfaced, centerforce installed, and finally the t56.
I just really need to buy engine mounts, a mini starter and a t-56 shifter and then I think it's ready to go in.

Looks like the slave set up will work. Only time will tell. I was relieved to get all line and fittings figured out.

Someone buy this damn thing before I do.

The tires do all have air in them and all the lights are on it that i have as well as its got a front air dam too that goes with the car.

For sale is my 1972 Datsun 240z. It's a great project or parts car. I have extra panels for it also. Have more interior plastics as well. It got a great almost no rust chassis underneath. I bought another truck I decided to fix instead.

I started to do a engine swap on it, putting in a ford 302. So it will come with or without the mount kit and the fuel cell.

the tires do all have air in them and it rolls fine i have the title

Or all together a deal of 800.00

I bought another truck instead so just going to sell this one off.

I love in about 2 weeks. Need to get this shit back together fast.

It's just sitting in there, my clutch fork is hitting the firewall, so I need to air hammer a littler clearance.
Still need a shifter pretty soon.

Man I've got a couple stock shifters in one of the cabinets...one of them may be the stock T56 shifter from a D&D trans I bought a number of years back. I'll take a look this evening when I get home and see what I can find.

Well shit. Here we are 3 years later.
Had to pull the motor to clearance some stuff. Turns out the trans was stuck it 4th. Apparently it's a common issue. I decided to pull the trans apart myself and do the rebuild. Trans looked to be in great shape except for the stamped shift keys which I replaced with billet shift keys. Quite the job, but not terrible. Gave me a solid piece of mind. Now I'm waiting on a clutch fork and it'll go back in. Looking to finish it up soon.

                        Here's the fresh trans

My stepdad had a Z with a SBC, cage and a mini-tubbed that was a gorgeous black on black back in the mid 80s. I have only seen pictures of it. I would love to build him that same car today with a little junkyard LS.

We need to get you one of these contracting jobs and you can finish this guy up real quick. Get those certs and we can talk some more.
Fuck you. We're going to Costco.

10 years ago there was a guy at Cedar Creek with a white one. Crazy Bob. It went mid/high 5s down there.

After getting my rebuilt tranny back on the motor, I attempted a second install. Significant clearance issues with the t56.

My Hydraulic slave mount contacted the firewall. I massaged the wall a little, but a bracket for the gas pedal brought that to a stop. I ended up cutting it off and just going with a RAM hydraulic throwout bearing ($200). Looking back I should have done this from the start, but I'd much rather be able to work on parts that are outside of the bellhousing as opposed to having to pull the trans. Also had to order a smaller harmonic dampener.

Lastly, the bulky reverse lockout solenoid was massively in the way. I ended up cutting off the solenoid and modifying it. It still has a spring that I have to overcome to get into gear, but it's far smaller.

Should be going in for the final time this week.
