I've given North Main three different chances to deliver, and each time I was sorely disappointed. Each time I was trying to impress someone from out of town, very embarrassing. Even with these votes I won't be going back.

Here's another one I forgot about, but is decent - Shady Oak BBQ. I only know of the one in Fort Worth (Fossil Creek area) but we used to have them cater our company meetings and it was pretty good. Best charro beans I've ever had!

Oh I miss Shady oak. Owned by the Spring Creek people.

Although I wasn't impressed, and it was late in the evening. I tried Lockhart's over in OC and didn't think it was great. Some people rave about it but thought it was ok at best.

For a chain I like Spring Creek

Off the Bone has amazing ribs, the rest is just okay

For some reason I like the ribs at Papas Bros BBQ on NW highway also.

I still need to try Old house and Chasin Tail since they are about the closest to me.

I haven't been to a spring creek in years, but it was really bad.

Shady Oak was ok. The sides were decent, but the BBQ was very forgettable IMO.

Man I agree. Went after all the hype and thought "meh" the whole time.

It gets my vote for worst BBQ in DFW of all I've tried. I've been there twice, but the second time was only because the restaurant we wanted to go to was closed on Monday.

I need to try some of these other recommendations.

                  Up in Smoke's ribs- Keller

Poordaddy's on HWY 26 in Richland Hills

Place in Garland across from Raytheon on Garland or Jupiter? Near Miller

There is also a Hard 8 in Roanoke now. Not impressed.

While there is truth in that, BBQ has some clear standards by which to measure that have nothing to do with flavor.
