  • Get ready to laugh - high tech lighting options circa 1993

I bought a Remington 870 my rookie year, and in 1993 I decided that I needed a light to go with it.

The only option available was to mount a Streamlight SL20X onto the gun with a mount added by a gunsmith. I know some of you will laugh when you compare it to today's options, but back then I was damn glad to have it.

    Behold:

20 years later, and it still works fine... Note the high tech hose clamps....

Holy Shit.... Bet that thing weighs a ton.
"Laws that forbid the carrying of arms...disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes...Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man." - Thomas Jefferson, 1776

Did you add an LED conversion recently or are they older than I remember?

By the way, that flashlight was bought in June of 1992. I have the receipt somewhere.

Old school but still functional. Kinda reminds me of the first Terminator movie, didn't he have a Maglight mounted on one of his guns? Looks fine to me Matt. I was about to question the LED conversion though LOL!

The extended mag tube looks homemade to me so it might be giving the optical illusion of the barrel being bent.

                              First thing I thought too.

Replace that sling with something a bit grungier and I could see that being a prop from Mad Max.
