  • How water resistant is Plastidip, or Flex Seal over wood?

I want a custom sized tool chest for my pickup bed. I'm thinking of building it from wood. I have a tonneau cover, so it won't be rained on. But still need some level of water resistance. Would painting it with Plastidip work? Or maybe the "Flex Seal" in a spray can?

Epoxy would hold up. That's what they use for wooden boats.

      60% of the time it's 100% effective.

Plastidip is pretty water resistant, but it will also peel off way too easy for a toolbox. If you use a good sealant itll hold up for a long time. If you want good aesthetics paint it and use a good primer like kilz or Zinssner that'll block everything.

Good idea. You can get pourable bar top coatings or brush on epoxy.

              Bedliner. Like Plastidip but different.
