  • 2001 F150 motor swap?

I have an 01 F150 V6 that has finally let go and now I'm at a crossroads. The easiest choice is getting a replacement long block installed. However, I'd consider going to a V8 swap if it can be done easily. Any one have any experience in this or could point me in the right direction? Thanks in advance for the help guys!

Replace the v6 unless you are looking for a project truck....

It's a bitch to swap in the V8. At minimum you will need the engine, transmission, complete wiring harness, ECM, gauge cluster, and you would likely need to modify the motor mounts.

Thanks for the info guys. Looks like it's gonna stay a V6 and have the cylinder heads replaced and a new rear main seal and call it a day. Next, I gotta see about finding a replacement for the plain bench seat.
