Every time I hear it my first thought is that the exhaust fell off. When you slightly rev it (even with clutch pushed in) it sounds like one side of the motor is open header. Like a really really bad exhaust leak. But that doesn't make sense when turning into parking spot with clutch pushed in and on the brake.

It feels nothing like when traction control sets in when accelerating hard.

^^^ Do that or put your cell phone on Video and hold it down near the floor, maybe try and reach over to the passenger side and see if it records it louder there than the driver side.

I've been trying to figure out a noise on mine for a while too, fucken sucks!

I couldn't either, so I usually put my phone in the cup holder just in case it starts. Played it for the service guy when I dropped it off, but the guy actually fixing it didn't hear the video until today.

                    Always be prepared!

My old aod car would do that when it was raining or i drove through standing water. It was something with the trans, I swapped from a 5 speed to an aod and back to a 5 speed. I thought I was crazy...
