  • Carburetor help!

Anyone in Mansfield area familiar with Carburetors? I have a hci 89 Coupe with a 650 Carb that I just got on a trade...Car will start sometimes but at other times it wont not sure if its the carb not allowing to start.

Wanted to see if someone can come by and tell me what might be wrong with it for a 12pk of beer? and maybe teach me a few things about Carbs.

    TIA....

It's a 255 areo. I'm so confused on what to check for sucks for me! I hate being clueless

And 5.0Thunder - car was a daily drive. Sat when I got it and I drove it home and it did fine (was like a 25 minute drive). I let it sit for about 15 minutes after getting home and waallaaa did not start.

I hope your using a regulator to reduce the pressure to 7lbs

Thanks Jyro...I did more digging for info on the car.

Stock fuel pump and the carb is a Holley Streetavenger

is there a fuel pressure regulator before the carb though? If not, the carb is getting way too much fuel directly from the pump. Look at the fuel lines going to the carb and follow them back til you find a regulator. If you don't find one, you need one. Although if you drove it already I would think it has one. I wish I was closer to mansfield, I'd go help.
